Practic mă reîntorceam în prima ţară vizitată, la prima ieşire, doar de data această nu mai era Strasbourg, ci Roubaix, o suburbie a mult mai cunoscutului oraş Lille. Iniţial, plănuisem să merg în Vama Veche, la o altă şcoală de vară din cadrul Ministerului Tineretului şi Sportului. Dar cum am picat la admiterea la primul modul, am crezut că nu mai sunt eligibil pentru cel de leadership. Chiar dacă am fost admis la leadership, tot nu mi se părea pont să merg pentru 2-3 zile la mare, mă gândeam că nu o să învăţ eu cine ştie ce leadership, nu se merita timpul pierdut pe drum, plus ca rezultatele erau anunţate prea din scurt. Revenind la povestea cu Franţa, Elena, o prietenă dragă, ce am cunoscut-o la un curs de animatori de tabere, în Sovata, a pus anunţ pe Facebook că mai are nevoie de participanţi din România la un schimb de tineri pe tema integrării sociale, ce urma să aibă loc în Franţa. Cum încă mai aveam poftă de Erasmus-uri după experienţa daneză, am zis să-i scriu şi după ce am trecut de selecţie, iată că-mi făceam bagajul pentru Roubaix. I was returning to the first country I visited, on the first time abroad. This time it was no longer Strasbourg, but Roubaix, a suburb of the much better known Lille. Initially, I had planned to go to Vama Veche, to another summer school within the Romanian Ministry of Youth and Sports. But as I failed to be accepted to the first module, I thought I was no longer eligible for leadership one. Even though I was accept for the leadership module, it still didn’t seem worth to go to the sea for 2-3 days. I thought I wouldn’t learn many things about leadership.Returning to the French story France, Elena, a dear friend, whom I met at a camp animators course in Sovata, posted a call on Facebook for Romanian participants in an exchange project about social integration, what was to take place in France. As I still had an appetite for Erasmus projects after the Danish experience, I to wrote to her and after I passed the selection, I was packing for Roubaix. Planul pentru seara românească/The plan for the Romanian night

Urma să mergem 3 români, eu, bucureşteanul Sergiu şi buzoaianca bucureştenită Diana de Pipera. După stresul din seară românească organizată în Danemarca, chiar nu mai voiam să mă stresez sau să mă cert cu cineva, aşa ca am luat-o chill, cu o listă de produse româneşti, în principal dulciuri şi vin, să bifăm o parte dintre ele, în funcţie de ce găsim. Un pic de presiune am pus pe Diana, la ideea Elenei, că ea venea cu bagaj de cală.

Me, Sergiu and Diana we were supposed to go . After all the the stress of the Romanian intercultural night hosted in Denmark, I really didn’t want to stress or argue with anyone, so I took it chill, with a list of Romanian products, mainly sweets and wine. I put a little pressure on Diana, according to Elena recommendation because she was coming with hold baggage.

Nu o să stau să vă povestesc iaraşi despre deja clasicul drum cu avionul Cluj – Charleroi, ca am tot istorisit, cel mai recent chiar în preamblul aventurii daneze. Doar că de data aceasta urma să iau autobuzul express din aeroportul Charleroi spre gara din Lille. Din echipa de organizare ţineam legătura cu Elena, dar erau 3 români defapt, Elenei adăugându-se trainerul Simona şi voluntara Larisa. Faza cea mai amuzantă a fost în gara din Lille, când încercam să-mi iau bilet de metrou spre Roubaix, iar o tipă ce părea că întreabă în engleză cu accent românesc, îmi aducea a Larisa. Dar nu eram sigur, că nu apucasem să schimb mai multe de 2-3 vorbe pe Whatsup cu această orădeancă. Aşa că m-am grăbit să urc în metrou şi să ajung la timp, la cină, că oricum eram printre ultimii sosiţi.

I will not go on you again about the classic Cluj-Charleroi fare. You can find this story in the preamble of the Danish adventure. Only this time I was going to take the shuttle bus from Charleroi airport to Lille train station. From the organizing team, I kept in touch with Elena, but there were actually 3 Romanians, Elena being helped by the trainer Simona and the volunteer Larisa. The funniest thing was at the train station in Lille, when I was trying to get a metro ticket to Roubaix, and a girl who seemed to be asking for directions in English with a Romanian accent, seemed to be Larisa. But I wasn’t so sure, taking into account did not had time to exchange more than 2-3 words on Whatsup with this woman from Oradea. So I hurried to get on the subway and arrive on time, for dinner, because I was among the last to arrive anyway.

Metroul mă lăsa în Piaţa Mare din Roubaix, dar GPS-ul mă tot învârtea, deşi cazarea era foarte aproape. Aşa că am apelat la Elena, care încă era în Finlanda, apoi la Simona, apeluri peste apeluri, în cele din urmă am înţeles în engleză de la Ragnar, organizatorul francez. Ajuns în sfârşit la cazare, am dat de delegaţia din Macedonia, nişte oameni super-faini, încă de la început. Erau două fete Maja şi Elena şi omul de comitet Miki. După cină, am revenit la cazare şi apoi am coborât în lobby pentru socializare. Dar cum regula era că se stă maxim până la ora 22 00, a trebuit să ne relocăm în camera lui Ragnar. De altfel acest hotel s-a dovedit mai mult decât neprimitor cu oaspeţii şi o să vedeţi în cele ce urmează de ce spun asta.

The metro dropped me off in the Grand Place in Roubaix, but the GPS kept spinning me, even though the accommodation was very close. So I was texting to Elena, who was still in Finland, then to Simona, call after call, and I finally understood the way to get to the hotel from Ragnar, the French organizer. Finally arrived at the accommodation, I met the delegation from Macedonia, some super nice people, from the beginning. There were two girls, Maja and Elena and the cool man Miki. After dinner, I returned to the accommodation and then went down to the lobby for socializing. But as the rule was to stay until 22:00, we had to relocate to Ragnar’s room. In fact, this hotel has proven to be more than rude to guests and you will see in the following why I say this.

Prima zi a început pentru mine cu o alergare. Până când colegul spaniol Gonzalo s-a trezit, eu deja eram super-energic, de la câteva ture date prin parcul din fața cazării. Conform desfăşurătorului primul exerciţiu consta în prezentarea fiecăruia, explicându-se istoria numelui. Unele din cele mai interesante nume auzite au fost Theopisti şi Loizos din Cipru, respectiv Şafak şi Begum din Turcia sau Evanghelina din Grecia. A urmat un alt joc de cunoaștere, de tip mișcare browninană, în care trebuia să discutăm în doi, la fiecare rundă și să descoperim lucruri comune. O fază tare a fost cu seria de provocări într-o oră, unde trebuia să adunăm numărul de următori al tuturor de pe Facebook și Instagram, să desenăm harta Franței, să aflăm grupurile locale expuse la excluziune socială, să traducem în fiecare limbă a tărilor participante o definiție a incluziunii sociale, să întocmim o listă de 100 de lucruri de care participanții se tem, să străngem câte un lucru a cărui literă începe cu fiecare literă din altfabet, să inventăm un task nebun pe care să-l punem în practică, plus să propunem o listă de 15 extraactivități pentru acest proiect, totul în maxim o oră.

The first day started for me with a jogging session. By the time my Spanish colleague Gonzalo woke up, I was already super-energetic, from a few laps took in the park from the front of the accommodation. In the project program, the first exercise consisted of presenting each one, explaining the history of each the name. Some of the most interesting names heard were Theopisti and Loizos from Cyprus, Shafak and Begum from Turkey or Evangelina from Greece. Another get to know each game followed, using the Brownian movement, in which we had to talk in pairs, every round and discover common things. A mission impossible game was with the one hour series of challenges, where we had to calculate the number of followers of everyone on Facebook and Instagram, draw the map of France, find out the local groups exposed to social exclusion, translate into each language of the countries participants a definition of social inclusion, make a list of 100 things that participants fear, to collect one thing whose letter starts with each letter of another alphabet, to invent a crazy task to put into practice, plus to propose a list of 15 extra activities for this project, everything was supposed to be done in just one hour.
Social inclusion is a process of improving the terms on which individuals and groups take part in the society.

A fost foarte utilă prezentarea din partea fiecărui țări despre cum se realizează procesul de intergrare socială. La nivel de România noi nu prea avem cu ce să ne lăudăm, eventual pe hârtie, că spălăm mulți bani cu proiecte invizibile pentru rromi.

It was very useful to present from each country on how is done the process of social integration. At the Romanian level, we don’t have much to brag about, possibly just projects on paper, using for laundering money with invisible projects for Roma people.

Pentru a ajunge la scrierea unui proiect de integrare socială, obiectivul acestui proiect, s-a început cu lumea unei organizații de tineri, mai precis provocările ce se ivesc, într-un exercițiu numit blossom exercise, unde provocările erau reprezentate ca petale a unei flori. După un workshop pe partea despre tipuri de conflicte, poate unul din cele mai practice lucruri dobândite în cadrul acestui proiect a fost prezentarea unor instrumente utile în activitatea de voluntariat. Am aflat noi modalităţi de utilizare a realităţii augumentată, folosită în procesul de incluziune și educației informală, apoi cat usor usor poti face concursuri de cultură generală pe telefon, utilizând Kahoot.it și chiar aplicația de mobilitate urbană Zpister, ce ajută foarte mult la calătorii.

In order to reach the objective of this project, to write a social integration project, it all began with the world of a youth organization, more precisely the challenges that arise, in an exercise called blossom exercise, where the challenges were represented as petals of a flower. After the types of conflicts workshop, perhaps one of the most practical things acquired in this project was the presentation of useful tools in volunteering. I found out that VR is used in the process of inclusion and informal education and also I discovered how easy is to use phone trivia Kahoot.it. Another useful travel app is Zipster, designed for the urban mobility.

După ce am avut parte de o plimbare în a 2-a zi, la un moment dat am avut parte și de un city hunt, unde am avut șansa să descoperim o parte din minunile orașului Roubaix.

Pentru cartea de vizită a trebuit să intrăm într-un hotel și să o luăm de le recepție. Poză cu un cocoș pe bune nu am reușit, dar am găsit un fast-food. Se pare că în drum spre sala de trainning era o grădină cu găini și cocoși.

For the business card we had to enter a hotel and take it from the reception. For the challenge with real rooster, we only found a fast food with rooster logo. Apparently on the way to the training hall it was a garden with chickens and roosters.

După ce am nimerit pe bulevardul de shopping, am dat și magazinul Adidas, ce era trecul și el ca selfie checkpoint. Eu Gică-contra bineînţeles că avea hanorac cu Puma.

Una din ultimele provocări din cadrul city hunt-ului a fost să formăm din ce găsim numele proiectului Sunrise Project. Am folosit ceva bețe, picioarele noastre și ceva mâncare chinezească ca și soare :))

Cipru au avut o prezentăre interesantă a organizației. Grecul Tzanos a plusat cu o serie de proiecte inspiraționale, din țările exotice. Dar mai multe despre Cipru şi restul experienţei din ţinuturile Flander în partea a 2-a a articolului-Ruobaix.
